In other news...this is my last week of teaching until April! I am so excited :-) Addi will be here in about 3 weeks, which is unbelievable! I still can't believe I'm going to be a mom!!!! It's one of the most amazing feelings in the entire world! I can't wait to hold her in my arms!

That's it for now. I will up load our new photo later!

Thanksgiving Weekend Part 1

So things have been crazy around here the past few days!!! My mom and I have been doing some last minute shopping getting everything ready for Addi. We have been doing a LOT of laundry and organizing!!! This has been amazing because it is satisfying my nesting need. I have been sitting around the past month forcing myself to wait until now to get her clothes washed, things organized, and putting things together. It really has been wonderful! I love folding all of her clothes, blankets, burp cloths, sheets, hats, socks, mittens, and everything else she needs. It has been a lot of work and I am always tired at the end of the day, but it is totally worth it! We have one more load of laundry (for now!) until everything we have is washed and ready for her.

Now for the crazy part...on Monday morning we found out that we had a leak in our sink and water on the floor that would not go away no matter how many times we wiped it up. We finally realized that every time we stepped on the wood floor, water would ooze up. NOT GOOD! We had a plumber come out who told us that we would have a major problem with mold if we didn't get the floor ripped out and the cabinets dried. He recommended a company that would work with our insurance to get the problem fixed. The guy showed up an hour and a half later (around 8 pm) and we discovered that our entire kitchen floor was ruined and some of our cabinets would have to be ripped out. He placed four extremely loud fans in front of the cabinets and told us that they would have to run nonstop for a few DAYS in order to dry out the cabinets. The fans were so loud that you really couldn't hear the person sitting next to you without yelling at them. They were horrible. Pockets would not leave our bedroom because they scared her so much that we had to move them into our bathroom. The good news is that they are gone (they company took them this morning) but the bad news is that they didn't really dry the cabinet where the leak was. We have to have that one replaced. I am SO happy that those stupid fans are gone! We can actually watch TV in our living room again instead of all four of us having to squeeze on our bed to watch TV.

We are now waiting on our insurance agent to come on Monday to assess the damage and give us the money to have everything fixed. I think we are going to look at tile flooring instead of wood just in case something like that happens again. I like tile a lot anyway! But I am going to miss the wood laminate floors.

Today, Michael and I went to check out a pediatrician and we loved him! The office is only 2 minutes away from our house, they see sick kids on the Saturdays, the Dr. will come see Addi in the hospital, they have an answering nurse and an on call doctor at night, and much more! I feel like we found our doctor and there is no reason to look into anyone else. We are really excited to have this doctor (isn't it funny how quickly our interests change?).

After that appointment, we went to the OB. Even though I am scheduled to be induced on the 5th, he said that it may or may not happen...it just depends on what my cervix is doing. He said that if I am already dilated and my cervix is ripe, then there is no reason to not go through with the induction. However, if my cervix is completely closed and long then we will wait a week and check again. I also found out that I will be able to have the epidural even though I am on aspirin, which is fantastic news! I will see him again in 2 weeks and then I begin my once a week visits. I am going to be check for strep B at the next visit.

Over all, it has been a wonderful day! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Much love to all of you and your families :-) I will have more to post later.

33 Weeks!

33 Weeks!!!

Can you believe it?!?!? We really only have 6 1/2 weeks until she is here though. :-) I can't wait! My mom and I are going to start to wash all of her clothes and sheets/bedding to get it ready for her. We also need to get her swing put together. I can't believe that she could really come at any time now. I know the chances are low that she will come early, but it is still weird to think about!!

Well...we are off to go see Blind Side!

Bye for now :-)

Weeks 31 and 32

31 Weeks

32 Weeks!! 2 months!

So like I said before, I love being pregnant but I can't wait to get some what of my old body back! I know it won't be the same, but I am going to work hard so I can get as close as I can get. (Sorry...I guess I'm just having a "fat" day).

No matter how fat/huge I feel, I am happy that Addi is growing bigger and getting ready for life out here in the world. I wouldn't change that for anything (including my flat tummy from before)!!!

Bye for now :-)

Just because :-)

It has been a REALLY long time since my last post so I thought I would update. I love being pregnant. I love having Addi with me ALL of the time. I love feeling her kick/push me at school, especially when I'm really stressing about something because she reminds me of what is really important in life, which helps me relax. I LOVE knowing that I'm not alone and that everything I do is for a good reason. I also really like when she has hiccups. Addi gets them like I do. If I have them once, I will get them on and off all day. For some reason, I am the only person that can feel when she has them. They don't make my entire tummy jump, which I thought that they would. I know they are hiccups because they are repetitive.

I only have a few negatives, one being the REALLY crazy sharp pains that I get in my uterus/cervix (sorry for the TMI, but it's true!) They hurt REALLY badly!!!! Of course I asked my doctor and he said that they are completely normal and that they will probably get worse as time goes on...FANTASTIC. But, I will put up with them for our baby :-) I also don't like when my fingers swell. It's really not comfortable. I am also beginning to get more tired as I get bigger. Oh..and that's another thing. I don't like gaining weight!!!!!!!! I can't wait until I can workout hardcore again! I know this sounds like a lot of complaining, but I have to say that the positives really out weigh the negatives. Overall, I have had a wonderful pregnancy and I have enjoyed it.

On a different note, yesterday Michael asked Dr. Fliedner about his on call schedule and we found out that we can schedule an induction!!!! We want to schedule it for Jan 5, that way we can know that Dr. Fliedner will be the one to deliver her (if she doesn't come early that is). So hopefully Addi's birthday will be January 5th!!!

Well, that's pretty much it for now! Only 20 more teaching days left :-) I can't believe how fast time is flying.

Bye for now!

A few pictures from Addi's Shower

Here are some pictures from the awesome shower! Everything was beautiful and we had an AMAZING time! Holly, Megan, Marty, and Angela did a fabulous job! I could never thank you ladies enough. And, thanks to everyone who came! I really have such amazing friends.

This is the diaper cake that Danny got me! I ABSOLUTELY love it! We are not taking it apart because we want to leave it as a decoration in Addi's room.

And, this is the cake and cupcakes that Katie made for me! It was SO cute!!! And, it matches Addi's bedding set!

Addi's Nursery :-)

Here are pictures of Addi's beautiful room! Mom and I had SO much fun getting it ready :-) And, I loved showing it off at Addi's awesome party today.

29 and 30 Weeks

29 Weeks

30 Weeks

I can't believe how big my belly has grown in just a few short weeks. My mom, Michael, and I just looked through all of the baby bump pictures we have taken and I just can't believe how much Addi has grown in the past 5 weeks!

I am still loving being pregnant, but I am getting to the point where I am getting uncomfortable when I sit, sleep, try to get in and out of my car, and pretty much everything else. I woke up early this morning with a REALLY bad charley horse cramp in my leg. I was yelling so loud that I woke Michael up and I scared him half to death!

My mom and I have been working really hard on Addi's room. We want to get it ready so we can show all of my friends at the shower tomorrow. We will take the sheets off after the shower until it gets closer to Addi's due date of course, but I LOVE seeing everything put together! Her room is BEAUTIFUL! We have had so much fun getting everything ready. We only have a few things left to do.

I am SO excited for the shower tomorrow! I hope everyone can come. I feel really awkward opening gifts in front of people! But it is going to be fun :-) Isn't it funny that the guest of honor doesn't even know what is going on? This is Addi's first party and she can't really enjoy it. However, her mommy can!

I have been having so much fun with my mom this week! I (we) really appreciate everything that she has done for us...Thanks Mom! We love you!

Well, it's time for us to get ready for Nikki and Kevin's party! Michael and I are going as salt and pepper (completely Michael's idea of course).

Happy Halloween!

Baby Bump pictures and Addi's nursery!

27 Weeks

28 Weeks...and growing!

Here are some pictures of Addi's nursery. We had to move the furniture around to make everything work, but I think we like it like this! I love the glider! I sit in it already so Addi can get used to the rocking motion!

4D Ultrasound

Since it is fall...I thought it was time to update the background to more fall like colors. I LOVE fall :-)

Here are some pictures from our 4D ultrasound! It was an amazing experience :-) It was absolutely amazing watching Addi. I could feel her kick me and see it at the same time!!!

Addi's Furniture!

Addi's furniture was delivered at 9:30 p.m.!!! The delivery man was very nice and he had everything put together and set up by 10:15 :-) I have been waiting for a few days to schedule a time with the delivery company...but he called me this evening and said he could bring it over. So...of course I said sure! Enjoy the pictures (it is much prettier in person).

26 Weeks <3

26 Weeks
Wow!! I just looked through my baby bump pictures and I can't believe just how big my belly has grown over the past 26 weeks. I also can't believe that Addi is going to be here in less than 14 weeks. We bought her furniture last weekend and we should be getting a call to have it delivered by tomorrow. The yellow couch has been taken out of the nursery (I love calling it that!) by the Salvation Army, so it is now officially a nursery! I can't wait until her furniture is delivered so we can get the room set up. I'm also excited for my mom to come so she can help us decorate and make it completely ready for her.

I am so excited to see Addi. I can't wait to see who she looks like, what her personality is, and more. I know she is going to be beautiful, but I can't wait to see just how beautiful.

We are getting a 4D ultrasound done on Friday (after my glucose test) which is going to be really cool. We are going to be able to really see Addi. I will post pictures as soon as we get back from Jessica's wedding on Sunday. We are going to have Michael's family over on Sunday night so we can all watch the DVD from the sonogram, so that should be fun. I can't wait to show my daughter off! (It is still very strange to call her my daughter!)

Well, I'm going to relax and watch some TV. Bye for now :-)

25 Weeks!!!

25 Weeks

I am loving being pregnant right now! I feel good (for the most part). I love feeling her move, which is a whole lot now, and it has been getting harder every day :-)

I have been having contractions quite a bit lately. I called the doctor and he had me come in. He checked me and said everything looked good. He said the contractions where not making any progress so we don't need to be worried. I have been dealing with cramping throughout the entire pregnancy and the contractions are not that much worse. I will deal with anything for Addi...just as long as she is safe.

Well...tonight is a school night so it's time for bed.

Week 21

Week22
Week 23

So I have gained a lot of weight (I know it's for the baby)!!! But I have A LOT of work to do after Addi is born. That's OK though. Michael and I are going to join Weight Watchers again together and I know that will help a lot!

In good news...I love feeling Addi moving. She is moving ALL of the time and in all different spots. We can even see her kicking (which is both weird and really cool!!!!).

I'm tired so I'm going to relax. Bye for now <3

School

School started last Monday and I feel like I have been teaching for a month already. My kids are interesting this year... VERY different from last year. I really hate the first two weeks of school because there are no routines, the kids still act like they are in kindergarten, and we really don't get into the curriculum until next week. It is a borning/stressful part of the year. I can't wait until I have the station rotations set up and the kids can act and think for themselves. Hopefully that will be soon!

I have a student teacher (the same one from last semester) and she has been WONDERFUL! She takes over for me when my feet start hurting and I have to sit down. She has starting teaching math this week and she is doing a great job! She will begin teaching science next week and we will add on a subject until she is full teaching in my classroom. It's going to be really hard on me when she leaves though! It's amazing how quickly you get used to having the extra help in your room. It's like I have a full time aid :-) In good news though...she is going to be my long term sub when I'm out for 12 weeks with Addi. This is wonderful because she will already know my kids, the routines of the classroom, the school...pretty much everything there is to know! It takes a huge weight off my shoulders knowing that I won't have to train someone on everything before I leave. YAY!! And I know that when I come back my students will have learned a lot and will be ready to move on!

I can't wait until I can start to decorate Addi's room. I really want to start cleaning and getting it ready, but we don't have the furniture yet. My mom is coming in the end of October and we will buy all of it then. Only 72 more days until Christmas break/my last day of teaching for 3 months and then all I have to do is focus on her and Michael. I can't wait to be a mommy!!

Well...I have to finish getting ready for my girls night out (well...in actually). Bye for now!!!

20 Weeks

Ok...so I'm a little late with posting the 20 weeks picture (because I will be 21 weeks tomorrow). Oh well...better late then never!

I can't believe how big my belly has gotten! I know I have a lot more growing to do...but I still can't believe it. I can feel Addi kicking a lot more every day!!! It is a really weird feeling, but I enjoy feeling her.

School has been crazy and I'm tired! Maybe I will update about school later.

Bye for now!

Thoughts

Today we got a phone call from Michael's mom telling us that his Pa-paw went to the hospital last night due to heart failure. We went to see him today and he is alert and talking, which is a good sign! He is probably going to have to get a pace maker though pretty soon. I will keep you all up dated on his condition.

Today really got me thinking. It's really important to me (and for Michael) that Addi gets to meet at least one set of her great grandparents. Grandmother and Pa-paw have been like grandparents to me for the past couple of years and I got REALLY sad thinking about my own grandparents. I really only remember my mom's dad and I miss him a lot. That's why having Michael's grandparents have meant so much to me. I love listening to their stories about their lives and how they met, what life was like when they were first married and started their family. I wish SO much that I could have those conversations with my own grandparents. There are so many things that I wish I could have asked my grandpa...what my grandma was like, what it felt like watching my mom have and raise children, and any advice he could share with me.

It also made me feel very lucky to have my mom supporting me through this wonderful part in my life (even if she is in Florida). I can't even put into words how happy I am that my mom will be here for me. It must have been so hard for her to raise my brothers and me without being able to call her mom when she was frustrated, or scared, or just someone to say you are doing a great job. My mom is a very strong woman and I only hope to be half the mother that she was to me for Addi.

I think my hormones are on high today. Sorry for the depressing blog but I had to get it off my chest.

Sonogram <3

So we had our sonogram and we are having a girl!!! Addison Lee Vick is due January 8, 2010. Looking at the sonogram was the most amazing thing ever. We saw all of her parts and they all look good (so the doctor says). We even got a picture of her sucking her thumb! So awesome!!!

I am starting to feel her move more and more. Michael jokes around saying that we have a soccer player in my tummy. He has not gotten to feel her yet, which makes him sad, but he will soon enough.

Here are the baby bump pictures for the past two weeks:

Week 17

Week 18

We also got a new car last Saturday. I cried like a baby when I had to say good bye to my Slug Bug...but I hope one day I can get another bright yellow Beetle! Here are some pictures of the cars:

P.S. Posting pictures on this is not easy!!!! I hope they all turn out in the right order :-)
