Week 14

Week 15

It really is AWESOME to see how much peanut has grown :-) It's hard to notice the change when I look in the mirror everyday, but I can really see in the pictures! This makes me more excited to hold our baby in my arms in January.

Bye for now!

14 Weeks

Yay for the 2nd trimester! I have noticed a HUGE difference already in what I'm experiencing. My morning sickness has decreased a lot and I'm not falling asleep on the couch at 7:00 pm as much. However, I am getting a lot more headaches than before. I'm also feeling more and more pressure in my lower stomach (right about where our peanut is laying) every day. I have also been more emotional! My parents left yesterday, which made me sad. Last night I looked in my fridge and saw my mom's chocolate cupcakes and they made me cry! I cry when I hear songs on the radio, TV shows, looking at baby clothes...it's pretty ridiculous.

I can't wait to hold our baby in my arms. I have had many dreams about that moment and I know it's going to be an amazing time in my life!

This weekend is going to be busy!! Holly, Pat, and Georgia are coming over tonight, we are going to hang out with Michael's grandparents on Saturday afternoon, we are planning on watching all of the Harry Potter movies on Saturday morning/evening, and then we are going to see the new Harry Potter movie on Sunday!!!

Have a great weekend!

Pictures

Update

We just had our screening done and it was AMAZING! We waited in the doctor's office for a little more than an hour before we got to see the doctor...but it was well worth the wait! We went into a room that had the ultrasound machine and I got really excited because I knew in just a few minutes, we would see our beautiful baby. As I laid there with my belly exposed waiting for the doctor, I knew everything would be OK. The doctor came in, put some jelly on my stomach, and rubbed the camera over me. I looked up at the screen and there Peanut was!!!! Clear as day. and he/she was moving like crazy. It was amazing. The doctor was trying to ask me about the medications I am on, but I couldn't really focus on what he was saying. We have not seen our baby since week 6 and Peanut was looked like a bubble. It is crazy that he/she looks like a real baby now...just 7 short weeks later. Michael and I were both in shock. I have not cried in a doctors appointment, until today. As soon as I saw Peanut moving I lost it. Michael looked like he had tears in his eyes too. It was an incredible experience. It is finally starting to feel real to me. We saw our baby, healthy as can be, moving and kicking like crazy.

I feel so much closer to Michael now. Like he said...being in that room and watching our baby felt like we were a family :-) I can't believe that I created a life with the most amazing man in the entire world. There is no one in this world that I would rather have a baby with than him. And I'm so glad that we are going through all of this together. It makes the entire experience that much better.

As far as the doctor...he said everything looks normal and healthy. I have to go back in a month for one for set of blood tests, but he said he doesn't expect the baby to have any problems. It won't matter anyway to us. No matter what happens...we are going to love our Peanut more than anything in the world.

4th of July and more!

This weekend was AWESOME! I got to spend some quality time with my niece and nephew and Vince and Anne. The day we got there, my mom, Sophie, Anne, and I had a girls day. We went to a maternity store and I actually have jeans to wear now!!! I can dress like a normal person :-) They have a 7 month belly in each room so you can make sure the cloths will fit when you get that big, which I had to put on! When I walked out of the room we all started to crack up. It was really funny!!! I can't believe that my belly is going to get that big and BIGGER! So exciting!!!

Saturday was really fun. John got to the house early that morning then we went to the town parade. When we first got there, we watched runners finishing their marathon eating our coffee and donuts. Haha...good for us for being healthy! We went back to the house and had some amazing brats for lunch! Michael and I can't wait to cook brats here. (Talking about them is making me hungry!) We also had a family bowling tournament. We each made our own Mii's and mine looked exactly like Michael Jackson! It was really funny every time it was my turn to bowl. Well long story short, I ended up winning! I bowled 3 AMAZING games! My highest score was a 193. I got to bring home a really old bowling trophy that Vince has had for a really long time. That night we had some awesome ribs (again...we want to steal the receipt) and light some smoke bombs. We also watched the Boston Pops on TV, but I feel asleep in the middle :-(

Sunday my parents left to go visit John in Michigan, so Michael and I had time alone with the kids. Since Uncle Michael and Nick when on a bike ride together, Sophie wanted to go with Aunt Mary too! So we got on our bikes and rode around the neighborhood for a good ride. That was so special to me!!!! Something I will never forget. She is a great bike rider :-) We went to the zoo later that day (after we watched the end of the Wimbledon men's finals...which was awesome!!!). The kids rode some rides and I watched...every single ride had a sign that said no pregnant women. Then we walked around the zoo for a while and then had dinner at a really good pizza place. That night Michael and I learned a new domino game called chicken feet which we played for a few hours. We left really early on Monday morning :-(

It was an awesome weekend! I am so glad that I got to spend some time with my family, since I don't get to see the kids very much at all.

In other news, I am going in for a special type of screening today that tests for down syndrome and some other type of genetic disorders today at 1:45. The good news is that the screening will not harm the baby in any way. I consists of an ultra sound (looking at the folds in the baby's neck) and a test of my blood...I will put more information up later because I'm not really sure what they are looking for. Michael and I want to know as much information as possible so we can prepare ourselves for anything. One of the things that made me feel better when I had my blood clot was reading as much information as I possibly could so I was well informed. I pretty much consider myself an expert on what happened to me, which made treating it and dealing with it physically and emotionally so much easier. We decided to do this only to make ourselves better parents for our child. I am the type of person that likes to be prepared. I will update when I find anything out!!!

Bye for now :-)

Dr. Appointment

So we went to the doctor expecting another sonogram...but we didn't get one! I was crushed :-( At this stage of pregnancy, it's hard to believe that everything is OK because I can't feel anything yet even though the baby is already kicking up a storm. However, we did get to hear our peanut's heartbeat and it was the most amazingly wonderful sound that I have ever heard. The doctor told me it might take him a few minutes to find the beat and that I shouldn't freak out so I just laid there and waited. I heard my heart beat, which was pretty slow, and then all of a sudden... there it was! It was such a cool experience and I hope that everyone has the chance to experience it.  Peanut's heartbeat was twice as fast as mine! I can't believe that there is a baby growing inside of me...WOW!

I will be at the airport getting ready to go to Ohio in 12 hours! I can't wait to see the family. It is MUCH NEEDED vacation after such a long school year (plus an extra month of summer school). It's going to be amazing. I will update when I get back! Have a great 4th of July!
